Welcome To DREMECELS

DREMECELS is a database for the studies for DNA repair mechanisms in Colorectal Cancer, Endometrial Cancer and Lynch Syndrome. Lynch Syndrome is an autosomal inherited disorder, which is a major cause for progression of Colorectal Cancer and Endometrial Cancer (which are the main leading cause of death worldwide). DREMECELS is the first database of this kind i.e. designed for the analysis of these two cancer types. In this database we are specifically focusing on three kinds of DNA repair mechanisms which are Base Excision Repair, Mismatch Repair and Base Excision/Mismatch Repair.

Percentage of people suffering from these cancers is increasing day by day worldwide. The reason could be individuals food habits, mutation in genes, environmental or hereditary effects. If we look at current statistics of these cancers worldwide, Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths while Endometrial cancer is the sixth one. In this database we are providing records of all the Genes associated to these disorders, their Protein products, the Pathways they are associated to, Interaction Studies, Literature Studies, Conserved Domains, miRNA's, Transcription Factors, Gene-Ontologies, Methylation Status, Drug Details, CNV (Copy Number Variation), Somatic Mutations and Coding regions that are determined through multiple sequence alignment.
