3. Louis Pasteur
(1822-1895)


The French microbiologist and chemist, is best known for
inventing the process, now known as pasteurization, that 
prevents milk and wine from going sour. His experiments 
confirm the germ theory of disease,  and he created the 
first vaccines for rabies, anthrax, and chicken cholera.
